Summer Health Treasure Chest: FARMER’S MARKETS

You’ve always purchased food from a grocery store, but have you ever looked at the produce label and noticed that it didn’t come from your city? Or province? Or country? Or continent?


In addition to reducing the supply chain being infinitely better for the environment, there’s something really nice about supporting local vendors and actually speaking with the people who nurture and harvest the food which you’re putting into your body. You can also ask about production methods such as pesticides- honest information often impossible to attain from a grocery store!


You can search for local farmer’s markets online! And the options aren’t limited to produce! You can also find fresh baking, and little treats, like these macrons and cold brew coffee!

Next time you go to the market, go in with the mission of finding ingredients for an entire summer meal!


For example, zucchini, pea shoots, basil, chicken breast, fresh parmesan, and homemade olive oil may all be found at a market to create a beautiful plate of summery Paleo pasta!
