MACRO-FRIENDLY HOT CHOCOLATE

I associate hot chocolate with stomping up the stairs to the ski chalet in my boots as a kid, fresh off the slopes after hours of snow biting at my face.

I’m not a huge fan of the sugar it’s loaded with though- A small hot chocolate from a franchise coffee shop has:
240 calories
6g Fat
45g Carbs (38g Sugar)
2g Protein

I LOVE making fitness-goal friendly versions of foods I enjoy, and this recipe has:
43 calories
2.5g Fat
3g Carbs
1.5g Protein

Ingredients:
• 1 cup (250 mL unsweetened cashew milk)
• 1 tbsp (15 g) baking cocoa
• Sweetener of choice (honey is delicious, or use Splenda for a lower calorie option!)
• 1/2 tsp xanthan gum (This makes it super rich and creamy!)
• Pinch salt

Method

Simply blend all ingredients, heat, and serve with mini marshmallows or coconut whipped cream!
