Flavours from Around the Globe: Meal Prep Made Fun

Meal prep Sunday is here, and with it, a likely combination of plain chicken, broccoli, and rice. There’s no need for this when a few spices can transform a plain protein, vegetable, or grain into a “fiesta”,”banquete”,”fest”, “γιορτή” or feast!

My dad used to do “Around the Globe” Thursday evenings with my brother and I when we were younger – Every Thursday, we’d decorate the house, dress up, and cook dinner in the style of a new culture. I remember loving the cooking especially; turning everyday ingredients into something completely fresh.

Liven up your meal prep by travelling to a new place every time you open your tupperware! Some of my favourite packing-friendly proteins include chicken breast, steak, extra lean ground beef, and extra lean ground turkey. Vegetables are incredibly versatile, while some prime complex carbs to season are potatoes, sweet potatoes, brown rice, and whole wheat pasta.
